Devlog #1 - Post-jam Update and Future Plans

Hello Readers!

We would like to first thank everyone for playing and rating Neuroshock. We had a lot of fun working on it and for a lot of our team it was their first game jam. We're very happy to have gotten an overall rank of 39th considering some of the difficulties we faced. We are also not planning on stopping here. A few days ago we released a post-jam patch that fixes many issues that came to our attention after release as well as implementing a few additions that just didn't make the cut in time.

Here's a quick breakdown of the major differences:-

  • Improved performance
  • Fully Implemented Settings Menu for Audio and Graphics
  • AZERTY Support
  • New Cleaner and less Obstructive HUD
  • New Graphics Shaders
  • Improved Animations for the Chatter Spider Enemies and Included Missing Weapon Models
  • Box Blocked Doors can now be consistently destroyed

We still have a lot of big changes we want to make however, with our long term goals hopefully amounting to a short action filled first person shooter experience in the style of Doom and Ultrakill. In the following weeks we will be implementing new enemies, remaking levels and crafting a proper combat sandbox that will hopefully provide some real challenge and create a solid foundation for the project going forward. We expect to be able to share some of these additions in the next Devlog. Until then, thank you for playing our game and stay tuned for the projects future!

And because we're so nice, here's a small teaser of what you can expect.
